Spring Adventures: Free Things To Do This Spring In Downtown Milwaukee

With warm spring temps and summer on the horizon, what better time than now to explore Milwaukee? Check out The Buckler’s list of awesome things to see and do in and around downtown Cream City, and don’t miss out on these free spring adventures.

What Is There to Do in Milwaukee?

Not only is Milwaukee culturally diverse and downright beautiful, but this city is packed with historical landmarks and unique attractions practically at every turn. There are plenty of things to see and do in Milwaukee, whether you’re trekking it on foot to the lakefront or just biking around downtown – keep reading to get the scoop!

Adventure Outdoors Around Milwaukee

If you’ve never seen the city’s infamous conservatory domes, then you’ve got to get an up close and personal view this spring. At the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, not only can you check out the conservatory’s stunning landscape and horticulture, but you can cross The Domes Bridge and wander or bike along the adjacent Hank Aaron State Trail.

Speaking of trails: About a 20-minute drive north of downtown Milwaukee, the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center offers incredible hiking opportunities with views of Lake Michigan and city. Don’t have a vehicle or prefer to be closer to home? Caesar Park has a riverfront walking trail perfect for catching fresh air and awesome cityscapes! Looking for a little history with your city scenery? Take a walk along N. Water St in downtown and see some of the coolest architecture – like the Ladybug and Mitchell Buildings – and a variety of other interesting historical landmarks.

Sightseeing & Spring Festivities in Milwaukee

While most of the city’s events are on hiatus, there are still a few spring festivities and activities in Milwaukee you’ll want to check out. From bridges and statues to scenic lakeside views, the RiverWalk is a must see in the springtime. Did we mention the Riverwalk is practically across the street from The Buckler?
